“…we humans have been shooting each other in the back for a long time…”
This remarkably well-preserved “Ice Man” died due to a stone arrow head in the shoulder at the ripe old age of 46, or so.
Now, birthdays bring out the morbidity in me, I guess, but I was actually moved when I looked at this poor guy and realized he’s roughly my age. I hope I look at least as well-preserved in five thousand years.
And because my brain works the weird way that it does, I’m reminded of this other news story about digging up the dead. In this case, roughly 500 bodies most with bullet holes in the skull were found in a mass grave near Vladivostock. The dead were likely victims of Stalin.
I didn’t mean to suggest that my brain was going to supply any salient commentary. Only perhaps, we humans have been shooting each other in the back for a long time.
